Picture of polar bear on melting ice sheet is a hoax

Regardless of your views on global warming or Al Gore, there are enough un-answered questions to keep scientists busy for years.  One of the problems is the accuracy of data collected about climate change.  Another is the accuracy of the observations being documented by the global warming enthusiasts.

This video illustrates the point.  What started as a field-trip photograph, shot across the internet, was picked up by the news wires, mis-labeled and incorrectly captioned.  Eventually, it became “visual proof” of the effects of global warming used in presentations given by Al Gore and others.

The problem?  The photograph was hijacked and totally mis-represented.  Even the news wires acknowledged the error.  This video is a news account about how that happened.

Moral of the story … question and verify.
